Job description
The Scientific Computing Center is the Information Technology Center of KIT.
The Scientific Data Management department at SCC is seeking additional staff to support the development of user-friendly file transfer tools between suitable endpoints such as the LSDF (Large Scale Data Facility) and the bwDataArchiv in a scientific environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Operation, maintenance, and further development of existing WebDAV, FTS, and LSDF web portal services
- Extension of the WebDAV protocol to support third-party transfers using FTS and OIDC-based authentication. The extension will be provided as an Apache module for deployment within the LSDF
- Further development of the LSDF checksumming service as well as the web portal
- Integration of the services into the AAI infrastructures of KIT and the NFDI
Job requirements:
- Completed university degree (Master’s level), preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
- Knowledge of the programming languages C and Python
- Experience in the operation of IT services
- Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Ansible and Puppet
- Experience in the administration of Linux server systems
- Solid, broad-based IT knowledge
- Knowledge of English - fluent in spoken and written
