The Private University of Applied Sciences for Business and Technology (PHWT) in Vechta/Diepholz is an accredited, modern, family-friendly and innovative university with excellent study and working conditions as well as outstanding research opportunities. We are looking to fill the following full-time position for our new Centre for Micromobility (Vehicles), which will provide support and advice to manufacturing companies and in particular SMEs in this field, and will be based on the Diepholz campus in the Department of Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering, as of the earliest possible date:

Open Topic Professorship for Micromobility

We are looking for an individual with a proven technical and scientific background in the field of electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science or mechanical engineering with a clear focus on mobility or micromobility. In addition to your professional qualifications - demonstrated by a relevant doctorate - you should have proven applied technical experience gained over at least five years of professional activity, of which at least three were ideally in an industrial environment. You will have experience in the development and application of scientific methods and technologies in the context of current and future mobility solutions.

The position is conceived as an open-topic professorship. A strong focus on current issues of micromobility, electromobility and digitally networked systems is expected and we look forward to receiving your concept for the proposed scope of the position. Potential focal points for the professorship could include:

• Micromobility systems and vehicles in urban and rural areas
• In-plant logistics systems and concepts
• Electric drive systems, battery storage and management
• Data processing, sensor integration and communication interfaces for micromobility vehicles
• Autonomous driving
• Digital mobility platforms and innovative business models
• Interdisciplinary fields of study from electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering and (micro)mobility

Lectures may be held in English as well as German. The professorship includes a three-year full-time position for a research assistant.

You will be integrated into an active research environment in materials technology, lightweight construction, production automation, electrical engineering and mechatronics. We expect you to make full use of our state-of-the-art laboratories in the context of your research and your collaboration with partner companies, and to expand and develop our laboratory facilities.

Suitable candidates will have experience in the securing and implementation of third-party funding and cooperation projects with partners from industry and science. In addition to research and participation in academic self-administration, the tasks of the professorship also include knowledge and technology transfer, in particular with PHWT partner companies.

The position is permanent, with remuneration based on the German W2 salary scale, and includes additional benefits. We prefer that you are located close to the university.
