The start date is July 2025 or later. The position is available for initially 3 years. The working language is German and English.

We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc candidate holding a PhD in Biological Science or Life Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry) who is interested in conducting cutting-edge research at the Department of Biology at the Excellence University of Konstanz, Germany. The research of this position majorly deals with proteotoxic stress related to human neuro-degenerative diseases such as Chorea Huntington, Alzheimers' or Parkinsons' using Caenorhabditis elegans as animal model System.

As part of the Deuerling group, you will join a team internationally recognized for its pioneering contributions and its long-standing expertise in proteostasis research.

Your Responsibilities

Identification/characterization of molecular chaperones using the animal model C.elegans
Contribute to papers, presentations and funding proposals of the lab
Supervision of Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 students

Your Competencies

A PhD in Life Science, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or Biochemistry
Excellent skills and hands-on experience in protein biochemistry
Good knowledge of protein biogenesis, protein folding and misfolding in the cell
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fluent knowledge of English language
German language skills or willingness to learn German
