The Bundesanstalt f眉r Materialforschung und -pr眉fung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. We perform research and testing in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry to improve the safety of products and processes. At BAM we do research that matters. Our work covers a broad array of topics in the focus areas of energy, infrastructure, environment, materials, and analytical sciences.

Your responsibilities include:
Interdisciplinary research in the field of flame-retardant polymer materials, including:

• Design, planning, execution, and evaluation of experimental series as well as process optimization
• Presentation and publication of results and communication with project partners
• Project management, acquisition of new topics, and public relations

Your qualifications:

• At least a very good PhD in polymer research
• Completed university degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.) in polymer science or related field
• Professional experience and knowledge in the areas of pyrolysis and flame retardancy of polymers
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
• Ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate
• Goal-oriented and structured working style, initiative
• Independent and responsible working approach, self-motivation
• Strong communication and information skills, including scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences
• Willingness to learn and interest in interdisciplinary applied research
