About us
The WZB research group "Health and Social Inequality" (Head: Prof. Dr. Jan Paul Heisig) is looking for a
student assistant (ID 334)
with a working time of 15 hours per week on a temporary basis from 7 July 2025 until 31 December 2026.Â
The WZB Berlin Social Science Center is a publicly financed research institution that conducts leading edge theory-based and problem-oriented social science research (http://www.wzb.eu/en). WZB researchers come from across the globe and work across social science disciplines including sociology, political science, economics, law, and psychology. A member of the Leibniz Association, WZB’s research is directed at the science community, policy makers, the media and the general public.Â
Your tasks and duties
Supporting the research work of Dr. Jianghong Li in the fields of labor market, gender and family, and public health, specifically:Â
- Implementing statistical analyses
- Summarizing research results in tables and graphics
- Performing literature searches and reviews
- Organizing literature references using Endnote or other reference managers
- Other general research support duties as required
Your profile
- Advanced Bachelor or Master student in a social science discipline or in public health, social epidemiology
- Fluent English language skills (written and oral)
- Ability to analyze quantitative data using Stata or other software programs (e.g., SPSS or R)
- Ability to portray results in tables and graphs
- Experience in literature search and review
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Additional desirable qualifications:Â
- Experience with longitudinal and multilevel data
- A good working knowledge of German (written and oral)
- Knowledge of child health and development, and family research
