With the German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA), a new research institution is being established in the Lusatia region. The aim is to strategically strengthen German astrophysics, promote scientific excellence, and actively contribute to the structural transformation of the region. As a scientific institution with a model character for innovation, the DZA will create new opportunities for strategic leadership in German astrophysics and will have a lasting impact on the transformation of Lusatia.

As part of the establishment of the German Centre for Astrophysics (Deutsches Zentrum f眉r Astrophysik [DZA]), the following position is to be filled as soon as possible in the Centre for Innovation and Transfer (ZIT):

Transfer and Innovation Manager (f/m/x) (remuneration according to pay group E 13 TV枚D-Bund, depending on personal qualifications)

Job Profile:

With the foundation of the German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA), a new and forward-looking research institution is emerging in Lusatia. Its mission is to strengthen scientific excellence in astrophysics, promote innovative technologies, and actively contribute to the region鈥檚 structural transformation.

Within this context, the Centre for Innovation and Transfer (ZIT) develops strategies and measures for effective knowledge and technology transfer.

As a Transfer and Innovation Manager (f/m/x), you will operate at the interface between science, industry, and society. You will identify technological trends, analyze their potential relevance for the DZA, and support concrete transfer projects. Through your work, you will play a key role in fostering sustainable innovation development at the DZA.

Your tasks:

• Analysis and observation of relevant methods and technologies in the research areas of data science and astrophysics
• Identification of key technologies and economic evaluation of research results
• Establishment and maintenance of transfer and cooperation relationships (universities, research institutes, and industry)
• Design and implementation of IP strategies and business models
• Organisation of workshops, project meetings and representation of the ZIT

Requirements:

• Scientific university degree (master's degree / diploma) in physics, computer science, mathematics, data science, or a comparable natural science or engineering subject
• Knowledge of government funding programmes and public and private financing options
• Knowledge of the economic, research, and educational structure in Saxony and Germany and the associated administrative guidelines
• Knowledge in the field of industrial property rights
• Knowledge of knowledge and project management
• Experience in networking and project work
• Experience in cross-border cooperation in the border triangle
• Very good written and spoken English and German
• Willingness to travel on business and possession of a valid driving licence
