Around 40 secondary school leavers of private and public schools in Malawi were invited to attend the free computer lessons training session at the state-of-art campus of Unicaf University in Lilongwe. This successful initiative has been running since August 2018 and has benefitted more than 800 school graduates so far.Ìý

Through the training, Unicaf University aims to engage with potential students, prepare them towards successful university applications, familiarise them with the flexibility and credibility of online mode of learning, and educate them about the Unicaf’s University degree programmes. Students, from their side, had the opportunity to enhance their computer literacy skills and create email addresses, essential for potential university applications. All participants found this training very useful and expressed their gratitude towards Unicaf University for this incredible opportunity.Ìý

After the completion of the lessons, all students received a relevant certificate of attendance from Dr Effiness Mpakari Gamp, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Unicaf University.ÌýÌý

Unicaf Helps Kenyan Students & Professionals Improve their CVs /news-and-events/news/unicaf-helps-kenyan-students-and-working-professionals-improve-their-cvs/ Thu, 12 Mar 2020 08:18:15 +0000 /?post_type=news-and-events&p=9406 The interest to attend the CV and Cover Letter Writing workshops is unwavering among Kenyans. The latest session on the 12thÌýof March attracted around 100 persons from different age groups, including high school graduates, university students and professionals – accountants, entrepreneurs, teachers, nurses and IT specialists among others.

Marketing and Communication Manager Winnie Rachael led the workshop, which gave valuable advice on ways to present one’s qualifications and talents in the best way possible to attract the attention of prospective employers.

Attendees found the workshop very useful and thanked Unicaf for offering this free training to the community at large, to help people improve their chances of getting into university or securing a job they are after.

Unicaf Still Offers Free Training Workshops in Kenya /news-and-events/news/unicaf-continues-to-offer-free-training-workshops-in-kenya/ Tue, 10 Mar 2020 08:26:10 +0000 /?post_type=news-and-events&p=9410 As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, Kenya is giving back to the community by regularly organising free CV and Cover Letter Writing workshops at its modern learning centre in Nairobi.

On the 13thÌýof January and the 27th of February, two more workshops of this type were presented by the Marketing and Communication Manager Winnie Rachael.Ìý Around fifty people attended each workshop, coming from many different backgrounds, from university students and graduates to professionals in IT, bankers, accountants, lawyers, nurses and entrepreneurs.

The highly informative and interactive presentations were well appreciated by the participants who expressed their gratitude to Unicaf for offering opportunities for essential skills training at no cost and said that they would recommend friends and colleagues to attend the next Unicaf workshop. They were also interested to learn more about the wide range of Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as professional short courses, offered online by multi-campus Unicaf University and by the other partners of Unicaf: the University of Suffolk, the Liverpool John Moores University and the University of South Wales in the UK, the University of California, Riverside Extension in the USA.
