in the Institute of Molecular Biosciences at the Faculty of Biological Sciences. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.
This is a tenure-track position for an initial six-year term. If tenure is approved at the end of the term, the position will be made permanent and promotion to the rank of Distignushed Professor (W3) will be granted.
Professorship Profile
The professorship will be integrated into the profile area "Structure and Dynamics of Life" at Goethe University. Collaboration in local joint initiatives, such as the SFB1507 "Membrane-Associated Protein Assemblies, Machineries, and Supercomplexes," the DFG Graduate School iMOL, and other ongoing cooperative initiatives at the site is explicitly encouraged.
Your Profile
We are seeking an outstanding scientist in the field of Molecular Microbiology to strengthen the profile of our faculty and the Excellence Cluster SCALE – SubCellular Architecture of LifE (). The successful candidate will conduct excellent research at the interface of Molecular Biology and Microbiology, preferably in one or more of the following areas:
Requirements for the appointment include a relevant completed university degree, a Ph.D., publications in the research focus in international peer-reviewed journals with a demonstrable impact on the research field, as well as evidence of successful third-party funding acquisition from national and, if applicable, international funding bodies.
Requirements for Appointment
In addition to the general provisions of civil service law and a doctorate, further academic achievements (e.g., habilitation, habilitation-equivalent achievements) are required for appointment. The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67 and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
