The Staatliche Hochschule f眉r Musik Trossingen is seeking to fill a

W3 Professorship for Intermedial Design and Sound Interaction (50 %)

as soon as possible.

We are looking for an outstanding personality with proven expertise in the areas of cross-genre and software-supported sound interaction at the interfaces of music for and with media, scenography, theatre and performance.

The Landeszentrum MUSIK-DESIGN-PERFORMANCE at the State University of Music Trossingen builds bridges between artistic tradition and innovative approaches of the digital age for artistic practice, research and teaching. We work together as an open and trusting team and provide students with intensive and individual support.

Your tasks include:

• Conception and implementation of courses among others in the areas of sound-related human-machine interaction (UI/UX) and creative coding, in particular in the Music Design degree programme, also in cooperation with Furtwangen University
• Initiation and supervision of interdisciplinary, cross-degree programme projects and scenography-integrating concert and event formats
• Institutional cooperation / connecting dots, networking, development of new educational programmes - also in the area of early education and music high schools, public relations, distribution
• Co-operation with external partners
• Acquisition of third-party funds or grants

Our requirements for you:

• Outstanding artistic profile
• Completed relevant university degree
• Extensive pedagogical experience, preferably in higher education

In addition, the following is expected:

• Comprehensive conceptual, sound and music design and technical experience in the field of sound design and creative coding (audio / visuals), spatial sound (3D sound, acousmatics, etc.) and electronic prototyping of interactive sound objects (physical computing with technologies such as Arduino as well as VR/AR, sensor technology, web audio, etc.) as well as the competence for (electro-)technical implementation.
• Participation in the committees and self-administration of the university
• Willingness to contribute to broad networking within the university's study programmes beyond the specialist artistic field
• Ability and willingness to engage in intensive interdisciplinary co-operation and a high degree of team and management skills.

The first appointment to a professorship is initially for a probationary period of three years. The appointment is made by the Rector.
