The Institute for Secondary School Education in the Department of Educational Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill the position of an
(Associated) Lecturer (m/f/d)
initially for three years as an Associated Lecturer with the option of permanent appointment as a Lecturer. The position is assigned to the Advanced Teaching Track as part of the university's permanent position concept Karrierewege@Goethe and is linked to a tenure track; after three years, the position will be terminated if the evaluation is positive. If an applicant already has all the necessary qualifications and relevant professional experience after completing the doctorate, an immediate permanent appointment as a Lecturer is possible following external assessment in accordance with the procedure laid down in the university's permanent position concept (see point 2.5 in the following link: ). The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).
Responsibilities:
You will participate in the teaching and research tasks of the institute, contribute to a diverse and target group-oriented range of courses in educational sciences within the framework of the teacher training courses of the department and enrich this with an educational science perspective, which primarily focuses on a combination of socio-theoretical reflection of historical and current transformation dynamics and the resulting need for change in schools as organizations. Among other things, the position addresses digitalization processes as cultural change and determines the mediality of learning and education as well as the change in organizational cultures in the context of a society increasingly characterized by data and evidence-based knowledge.
You will teach as an Associated Lecturer for 8 LVS and as a Lecturer for 12 LVS, primarily in the modules BW-D [Diagnostics and Counselling], BW-B [Teaching], BW-C [Education] and BW-E [Innovation]; participation in the module BW-A/Sb2 is also desirable, particularly with regard to the transformation of schools and teaching in algorithmised societies.
As an Associated Lecturer, you will qualify for the organizational tasks involved in teaching and learning. This includes tasks in the area of course planning, internship supervision and coordinative tasks in departmental initiatives and degree programs. There is an obligation to undergo regular further training in higher education didactics or to expand the teaching portfolio.
For the duration of employment as an Associated Lecturer, a proportion of self-determined research is part of the job description for academic qualification. Further qualification is carried out independently in accordance with the requirements set out in a target agreement.

Recruitment requirements:
- completed academic university degree (teacher training programs, Master's degree or comparable) in the field of educational science
- Doctorate in educational science
- social, institutional, organizational and digitality theory references: Expertise in at least two areas, interest and potential in all of them and their interaction
- expertise in relation to theoretical contributions to school development and organizational pedagogy in interaction with the above-mentioned fields
- expertise and potential in relation to digitality-media education
- experience in quantitative or qualitative-empirical school research
- willingness to teach in English
