The Institute of Elementary and Primary Education in the Department of Educational Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill the position of an
(Associated) Lecturer (m/f/d)
initially for three years as an Associated Lecturer with the option of permanent appointment as a Lecturer. The position is assigned to the Advanced Teaching Track as part of the university's permanent position concept Karrierewege@Goethe and is linked to a tenure track; after three years, the position will be terminated if the evaluation is positive. If an applicant already has all the necessary qualifications and relevant professional experience after completing the doctorate, an immediate permanent appointment as a Lecturer is possible following external assessment in accordance with the procedure laid down in the university's permanent position concept (see point 2.5 in the following link: ). The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).
Responsibilities:
You will participate in the teaching and research tasks of the Institute of Elementary and Primary Education, contribute to a diverse and target group-oriented range of courses in the major subject programs (Bachelor's and Master's in Educational Science) and enrich these with an educational science perspective that focuses in particular on the concepts anewd phenomena of heterogeneity, inequality and inclusion. Their professional orientation is based on a historical, systematic and/or epistemological and/or empirical study of difference. Teaching should address questions relating to the historical and social genesis of one, several or intersectional intertwined difference(s) (e.g. gender, origin, age, language, disability, generation) and/or orders of difference in their significance for processes of pedagogical institutionalization and for pedagogical action.
You will teach as an Associated Lecturer for 8 LVS and as a Lecturer for 12 LVS, primarily in the modules EW-BA 5 (Educational Science and Difference), EW-BA 9/10 (Professional Pedagogical Action across the Ages, Pedagogy of the Ages) and EW-MA 1 (Sociality and Organization of Pedagogical Processes); Participation in the module EW-BA 8 (Digitality, Media & Education) is also desirable, especially from a difference-theoretical perspective
As an Associated Lecturer, you will qualify for the organizational tasks involved in teaching and learning. This includes tasks in the area of course planning, internship supervision and coordinative tasks in departmental initiatives and degree programs. There is an obligation to undergo regular further training in higher education didactics or to expand the teaching portfolio.
For the duration of employment as an Associated Lecturer, a proportion of self-determined research is part of the job description for academic qualification. Further qualification is carried out independently in accordance with the requirements set out in a target agreement.

Recruitment requirements:
- completed academic university degree (Master's or comparable) in the field of educational science and/or related humanities/social science subjects
- Doctorate in educational science
- relevant research experience in the systematic and/or empirical study of difference, heterogeneity, inequality and/or inclusion in institutionalized pedagogy, in theoretical and/or empirical perspectives on pedagogical professionalism in the pedagogical institutions of growing up
- relevant experience in university teaching in educational science degree programs, especially in the above-mentioned subject areas
- Interest in or experience with the internationalization of university teaching
- Willingness to teach in English
- very high degree of independence, communication skills and ability to work in a team
