initially for three years as an Associated Lecturer with the option of permanent appointment as a Lecturer. The position is assigned to the Advanced Teaching Track as part of the university's permanent position concept Karrierewege@Goethe and is linked to a tenure track; after three years, the position will be terminated if the evaluation is positive. If an applicant already has all the necessary qualifications and relevant professional experience after completing the doctorate, an immediate permanent appointment as a Lecturer is possible following external assessment in accordance with the procedure laid down in the university's permanent position concept (see point 2.5 in the following link: ). The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U). Responsibilities:
You will participate in the teaching and research tasks of the Institute, contribute to a diverse and target group-oriented range of courses in the major study programmes (Bachelor's and Master's in Educational Science) of the department and enrich these with an educational science perspective, which requires well-founded knowledge as well as teaching and research experience in the following areas:

1. knowledge, disciplinary and social history aspects of educational science
2. theoretical approaches in educational science and criticism of science
3. empirical educational science subject constitution in a broad spectrum of qualitative and in particular quantitative methods, especially including theoretical and methodological reflections and
4. in the field of theories and concepts of educational science

You will teach as an Associated Lecturer for 8 LVS and as a Lecturer for 12 LVS, primarily in the modules in the modules EW-BA-6 (Empirical Research Methods I, Fundamentals) EW-BA-7 (Empirical Research Methods II, Specialization) and EW MA 3 (Methodology and Empirical Research Methods Quantitative and Qualitative). Participation in the modules EW-MA 4 (Research-related Studies I) and EW-MA 5 (Research-related Studies II) is also desirable in order to relate the above-mentioned focus areas in particular to educational research in the field of difference, power and hegemony. The main focus will be on introducing the various methods and their theoretical foundations. In addition, survey and analysis procedures in connection with current educa-tional science studies are to be worked on and also discussed with reference to international studies. A further focus of the activity relates to the deepening of methodological knowledge and its application in the sense of the evaluation and application of various social and cultural science research methods in the field of educational science. Students should be familiarised with educational science issues and their empirical treatment. Against this background, they can also independently develop smaller empirical research projects with students and, for example, work on questions of scientific criticism. As an Associated Lecturer, you will qualify for the organizational tasks involved in teaching and learning. This includes tasks in the area of course planning, internship supervision and coordinative tasks in departmental initiatives and degree programs. There is an obligation to undergo regular further training in higher education didactics or to expand the teaching portfolio. For the duration of employment as an Associated Lecturer, a proportion of self-determined research is part of the job description for academic qualification. Further qualification is carried out independently in accordance with the requirements set out in a target agreement. Recruitment requirements:

• completed academic university degree (Master's or comparable) in the field of educational science
• qualified doctorate in educational science
• Knowledge of the history of educational science as a social science
• methodological and research methodological knowledge in the field of quantitative and qualitative research approaches for dealing with central questions in the field of difference, power and hegemony
• teaching experience in methodology
• Knowledge of scientific theories relevant to educational science
• Experience in supervising student research projects
• Experience in conducting social science research in educational science using various research methods
• Willingness to teach in English
